Terms of Service

Effective Date: June 2026

These Terms are a practical beta-stage draft and may be updated as FretTrack's paid plans, billing, and production services evolve.

By accessing or using FretTrack, you agree to these Terms. If you are using FretTrack for a repair shop or business, you represent that you have authority to use the service for that shop or business.

Agreement to These Terms

These Terms govern access to FretTrack, including the public site, beta access flows, and the FretTrack application. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use FretTrack.

About FretTrack

FretTrack is workflow and recordkeeping software for guitar and bass repair shops. It may help shops manage customers, instruments, jobs, repair notes, work logs, photos, damage maps, scheduling, inventory, vendors, purchase orders, receiving history, reports, and billing or subscription status.

Beta Status

FretTrack is currently in beta. Features may change, be added, removed, renamed, limited, or interrupted during beta testing.

Beta users should not rely on FretTrack as their only recordkeeping system without keeping their own backups or exports where appropriate.

Accounts and Shop Access

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for making sure account and shop information is accurate. FretTrack may require beta approval, email verification, shop membership, or other access checks before app features are available.

Roles and Permissions

Shop roles control what users can view, create, edit, delete, upload, receive, report on, or manage. You are responsible for assigning appropriate roles to your team and removing access when someone should no longer use your shop workspace.

Customer, Shop, and Repair Data

You retain responsibility for the data you enter into FretTrack. Shops are responsible for the accuracy of customers, instruments, jobs, repair notes, work logs, schedules, inventory, vendors, purchase orders, receiving history, reports, and billing-related records they create or maintain.

FretTrack provides workflow and recordkeeping tools. You are responsible for your own repair decisions, customer communication, pricing, workmanship, legal obligations, and shop operations.

FretTrack is not responsible for repair decisions, workmanship, pricing decisions, customer disputes, or day-to-day shop operations.

Photos and Uploaded Content

You retain responsibility for content you upload or enter. You represent that you have the right to upload photos, notes, files, and shop or customer data to FretTrack.

You grant FretTrack the limited permission needed to host, process, display, transmit, back up, and otherwise use that content to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and support the service. FretTrack does not claim ownership of your shop data or uploaded content.

Acceptable Use

You may not use FretTrack to:

  • Attempt unauthorized access to accounts, shops, data, systems, or infrastructure
  • Bypass security, entitlement, billing, or role restrictions
  • Upload illegal, harmful, abusive, infringing, or misleading content
  • Upload malware, malicious files, or code intended to harm the service
  • Harass, threaten, impersonate, or harm others
  • Interfere with service operation, availability, or security
  • Misrepresent your identity, shop affiliation, or authority
  • Scrape, reverse engineer, overload, resell, or abuse the service

Plans, Trials, Billing, and Subscriptions

FretTrack may offer free trials, beta trials, paid plans, or subscription plans. If billing is available to your shop, plan details, trial length, pricing, renewal terms, and cancellation options will be shown during signup, checkout, or inside FretTrack.

If a trial is offered, access may convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless cancelled according to the checkout or billing terms shown at signup. Some plans may include a trial period, such as a 7-day trial, when shown at checkout or in the plan details.

Stripe and Payment Processing

Payments and subscription billing may be processed by Stripe. FretTrack does not store full credit card numbers. Stripe may collect and process payment information according to its own terms and privacy policy.

Cancellations and Access Changes

Cancellation options and effects will be shown during checkout, in plan details, or inside FretTrack when billing is available. Trial expiration, cancellation, non-payment, or account changes may limit access to paid features, write access, exports, or other functionality while preserving shop data where practical.

Refunds

Unless otherwise stated at checkout or required by law, subscription payments are generally non-refundable. If you believe there has been a billing error, contact support.

Data Accuracy and Backups

You are responsible for reviewing data entered into FretTrack and keeping appropriate external records, backups, exports, invoices, receipts, customer communications, and repair documentation for your business needs.

Third-Party Services

FretTrack uses third-party services for hosting, security, authentication, storage, email, issue tracking, payment processing, or other operations. Third-party services may have their own terms, privacy policies, availability, limits, and data practices.

Service Availability

FretTrack may be interrupted by maintenance, beta changes, service-provider issues, security events, network conditions, bugs, or other causes. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or perfectly secure service.

Intellectual Property

FretTrack, including its software, design, branding, documentation, workflows, and related materials, is owned by FretTrack or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer ownership of FretTrack intellectual property to you.

Feedback and Suggestions

If you send feedback, ideas, bug reports, screenshots, workflow suggestions, or feature requests, FretTrack may use them to improve the product without owing compensation or creating any obligation to build a specific feature.

Suspension or Termination

FretTrack may suspend or terminate access if we believe an account violates these Terms, creates risk, bypasses security or payment controls, harms users or the service, or is required to be restricted by law or service-provider requirements.

Disclaimers

FretTrack is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the extent allowed by law, FretTrack disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or meet every shop's needs.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent allowed by law, FretTrack is not liable for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, repair mistakes, customer disputes, business interruption, indirect damages, consequential damages, or similar losses related to use of the service.

Indemnification

You agree to be responsible for claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses that arise from your use of FretTrack, your shop operations, your uploaded content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of someone else's rights, to the extent allowed by law.

Changes to the Service

FretTrack may change, limit, rename, remove, or add features, workflows, integrations, plans, or access controls, especially during beta and paid beta preparation.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as FretTrack changes. If changes are material, we will update the effective date and may provide notice through the site, app, email, or other reasonable channels.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, unless a different governing law is required by applicable law.
